Overview
Required
This is an exhilarating river plunge in a convenient location. Barton Park is a large, well-maintained park with ample river access. You don’t need to wade out very far - I did my plunge in about 2 feet of water. Great views of surrounding nature and the nearby bridge!
Hours of Operation
Directions
After paying for parking at the park entrest, drive to the parking lot nearest to the boat ramp (at the very end of the road).
Hiking Guide
Walk past the boat ramp and continue west on a small trail near the bridge. Continue on this path until you find a slow flowing, semi-shallow portion of the river. Begin your plunge! You don't need very deep water for your plunge. About 1.5-2 feet of water depth is fine!
Cautions
Wear sandals or water shoes! There are many rocks and it can be slippery when navigating the shoreline. If you choose to plunge at this location in the winter, be warned - this river can flood and water levels can be deceptively deep and fast. Choose a visibly shallow with slow-flowing water!
