Trillium Lake is a classic summer sightseeing, paddleboarding, and fishing destination that is located roughly 1.5 hours from Portland. It features stunning views of Mt. Hood, beautiful trees, and crystal-clear water. When you arrive, parking can be a busy free-for-all. The entire lake is fairly shallow and safe, so simply walk the path until you find a good place to plunge. There is a common swimming/wading spot right next to the parking lot that can be good (as long as the park isn’t busy). For my plunge, I decided on a nice spot by the makeshift amphitheater on the east side of the lake. This took some walking on the trail that circles the lake. The shore has a nice gradual decline and it was easy to enter the water.
